My new favorite ingredient is such a treat… duck fat! I was very excited to find out I could order a jar of rendered duck fat on Amazon for only $15.
This is much easier than buying duck and rendering the fat myself. There are so many great ways to use duck fat, just simply replace butter or oil the fat and cook as usual. This recipe for duck fat fries is extremely simple and takes hardly any prep time and a few ingredients.
Ingredients
4 Side Servings
- 1 1/2 pounds of fingerling potatoes
- 2-3 tbs rendered duck fat, melted
- Salt & Pepper
Preheat the oven to 400°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick spray. Rinse and dry the potatoes before cutting them into wedges. Place the potatoes in a large bowl along with the duck fat, sprinkle of salt & pepper. Use your hands to toss the potatoes so they are evenly coated. Place the potatoes on the baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Use a second baking sheet if needed. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes, then flip the potatoes and cook for 15-20 more minutes or until both sides are golden brown and a little crispy.
Serve warm & enjoy!
**Add in chopped rosemary, or fresh garlic for a little something extra!
